What’s the point? I don’t make any money doing hair.

I had reached my wits end. My clientele was growing at a snail’s pace and it wasn’t even a clientele I wanted. It just seemed that the harder I worked, the more tired I was, and I was barely making any money. How long could I keep this up?

After four years of struggle and financial pain, living paycheck to paycheck, working my butt off during the holidays, letting my clients control my schedule, I decided to quit the hair business altogether.

It wasn’t until I met someone outside the hair business that taught me how to open my eyes to the big picture. With his mentorship, I was re-inspired with new ideas, insight, and purpose. I also realized why I was never going to be hugely successful, no matter how hard I worked. It was because I was focused on the wrong things!

I focused on technique only. Doing better haircuts, better color. That was my focus. But no matter how great I could cut and color, I still had slow days, and sometimes slow months.

That’s when I realized that technical talent, had very little to do with overall success. In fact, success in our business, relies very little on technical ability at all. 

If you’re rolling your eyes now, I get it. Yes, having great technical ability is important. But unless you learn how to actually get your brand and your message in front of people, you’ll  never get clients in your chair.

Just think about it a minute. How many successful artists out there right now are making a killing, and it’s obvious they have very little actual skill? Quite a few. That’s because they’ve learned to master other elements of success, and built a business, brand and reputation from that!

I know you have skill. But it’s not enough. You need more to get to where you want to go, and I want to help you get there.

That’s why I created a business and branding mastery system called the 6 Building Blocks of Success.

Today, my business clears well over 7-Figures a year, something I never thought would happen, especially after that somber day in court when I signed my Bankruptcy papers.
